An urgent request...

We need a video camera or compact digital camera that will allow decent videos to be taken, as the last one donated to us has died.

If you have one (or know someone who does) that you would like to put to good use, do contact us at health.care.to.villagers@gmail.com

Thank you!

H C T V - May 2011

While the rest of country was enjoying the long weekend due to Labour Day on Sunday, we were blessed with another opportunity to visit the village. Although it had rained a few days before, we had good weather on Sunday until we were ready to leave for home.

Other than our regulars sponsors for rations, this time the villagers were blessed with Goat's milk by a generous donor who chose to remain anonymous. Milk is not something the villagers are used to, and we were a little concerned about how they would respond to it. Both adults and children enjoyed it tremendously and came back for a second and even third helping, and just like 5 loaves and 2 fish, the milk kept multiplying until they were all filled and we had more to spare.

We have learnt from this and previous experience that no matter how challenging or impossible things may seem at times, we just have to be faithful with whatever little we have, and leave it all in the hands of the One who is able to to make all things possible.
Thank you for your prayers and support. Together, we can make a difference. God bless.

H C T V - Apr 2011

This trip started much earlier than usual as we had the team from Soul Kitchen, Australia down and they sponsored a meal for the entire village right after the health clinic. Cooking started at New Manna in Penang at 3 am and we left at 6 am only to return to the island at 7 pm. It was a very long but exciting day for us.

Thank you very much for all your support and prayers in making this trip possible.

H C T V - March 2011

Our trip in March was very exciting and we would like to thank all those who have been a part of this project, it's your prayers and support in cash & kind that make it possible for us to do what we do.

On our journey into the jungle, we had the very rare opportunity of seeing a herd of wild buffaloes - looking at the picture, it's as if they too were quite amused to see us...:)

The villagers were generally in good health, and we had 2 new babies registered with us on this trip.
Although we are not able to mention and thank each of you personally here, we are very grateful for the contribution of rice, breastmilk, milk and also contributions in cash that allowed us to get additional things needed for the trip. Thank you & God bless you!

H C T V - February 2011

Due to the Chinese New Year celebrations we were unable to hold our usual clinic, but we still made a trip and distributed food rations while spending some time talking to the villagers.

It was quite a relaxed trip as we got to spend time catching up on the happenings in the village. The level of deforestation is quite worrying and with an increasing number of timber lorries going in, the roads are quite bad although manageable with a 4 wheel drive vehicle. Landslides and strong winds are now a regular affair there, although it was very rare few years ago. While they are concerned about their safety and livelihood, there's nothing much that can be done for now.

In your kindness, please keep them in prayer so they will soon be able to enjoy what they truly deserve. Although they do not have a voice, they have their rights. Thank you.

January 2011 - Presenting Irman!

We had 2 trips in January alone - the first was our usual health trip, and the second was to welcome a new baby, Irman who is the younger brother of Irfan who returned to the Lord on the 20th January 2010.

By God's grace Irman was delivered on the 1st of Jannuary 2011, a great start to a new year. He's a healthy baby & both he and his mum are doing well. Thank you for your prayers and support. Here are some pictures of Irman.

H C T V - November 2010

Generally, the villagers seem to be in good health with no new problems except for skin problems. The lack of clean water supply is still a major issue and until this basic need is met, it looks like we will continue to face such cases.

Food rations were given out as usual, but we are feeling the pinch with rising food prices - buying rations for one family with the increased prices is one thing, buying for 40 families is another story altogether. This time we were blessed with a donation of chocolate milk Reliv Now for Kids.

If you would like to help feed the villagers (not what's expired and unedible, but sharing what you have), please let us know. Since there is no electricity, we have to depend on canned food, e.g sardines, corned beef, etc. They are lacking protein in their diet and if you would like to contribute either in cash or kind, please drop us an email and we can talk further.
